Located in the fashionable district of Yonge and Eglinton, for over 25 years La Vecchia has been offering authentic taste of Italian cuisine with genuine Italian ambiance. Enter the dining room with dimmed chandeliers and candlelit tables; the ambient music fills the room dressed with velvet seating and pictures paying tribute to Italian film culture. Our Chef’s culinary skills will seduce your senses delivering old world cuisine meeting modern appetites. Miniature Massive assisted and advised in the launch of their second location, La Vecchia Lakeshore - a beautifully designed and expansive space nestled on the Lake Ontario shoreline and fronted by an expansive patio. An ideal setting for a memorable evening with friends and family. We continue to work in collaboration with the LV team to tell their story and spread the good word.

One fateful night we bumped into the most mysterious and magical store front we had ever seen! Since it lacked a sign, it was difficult to know what it was. Through closer inspection, we found out that what we were looking at was actually a used bookstore. A wondrous place like this needed to be found! So we met with owner Stephen Fowler and offered to create a sign for it. We collaborated with a very talented woodworker called Rob Cockell, and now the sign is part of The Monkey’s Paw essential identity.

Paradise Theatre is an old and forgotten building in the heart of Toronto. They hired us to dream up what Paradise Theatre could become.And dreaming we did! Along with a convertible theatre that transforms into a hall, a winter garden for improving people’s mental health during the cold months, a restaurant with colourful food that’s good and good for you, a place instilled with community building strategies, paradise theatre could become a literal city’s paradise.

Hajnalka Mandula is a Hungarian fashion icon that is committed to make her clothing out of raw, organic cotton; crinkled hand-dyed silks; boiled, hand-felted wool and cashmere and hand-washed, reclaimed leather, etc. We were looking for a fashion collaborator when we found Hajnalka. We shot Hajnalka’s lines from 2004-2007, using a Pentax K1000.

This graphic, later turned into a bag, art directed and designed by us and illustrated by Ani Castillo, was made for a fundraiser. The proceeds were donated to Fred Victor, a charity for the homeless.

This delicious sandwich shop in Toronto, by Nick Auf der Mauer, was creatively directed and designed by us. The illustrations and typography are by Ani Castillo.

Luckee is the Hong Kong native’s take on the long standing tradition of traditional Chinese dim sum. The project was a collaboration with Community Agency, namely American designer Brittany Waldner. We contributed: Creative Direction, Art Direction, Design Menu Design Exterior, and Signage Design.

VICE, a North American broadcasting company, brought us into their offices and asked us to create a custom light installation for their Night Market.

Gears and Roses

There is a beautiful small town in Southern Ontario called Kingsville. And in Kingsville there is a gem of a restaurant called Jack’s. Jack’s asked us to help them with their communications and their branding. We created maps of the area, so people could find Jack’s more easily, as well as helped them modernize and re-design their menu and identity so it could reflect the quality of their food and service. Now Jack’s brings people from all over the province to get a taste of what, up until recently, was a well kept secret of a little town.

With his own breed of comedic innocence, Farnsworth begins a quest - a quest to show the world his new vision. Being a purist, he also struggles with the transition from film to video. Yet, however hard it may be for Farnsworth to break away from the celluloid, he does so with immense success, hence the title; The Man with A DV Cam. He becomes a one man production team in his exploration of his new digital tool. As Farnsworth finally escapes the confines of celluloid, he creates a stunning and highly-stylized visual collage that seamlessly blends the surreal with the absurd.

Peacock Alley Entertainment is a proven producer of successful, critically acclaimed scripted and unscripted content for channels around the globe. With design and art direction from us, they produce many movies and shows for many platforms.

Susur Lee is a well-loved, food mogul in the city of Toronto. But not only that, he is also a family man! He has instilled a true passion for food and service in his young sons Kai and Levi. They had the location and the menu pretty well figured out, so we got our heads together and helped them with: Naming, Branding, Identity, Design, Industrial design, Package design, and Photography.

H+ME Technology Design Studio components and ideas.

As part of their Award Winning Design Studio, we partnered with long time friend and Great Gulf’s Executive Creative Director, David Barnes to create a full scale installation that described and portrayed their proprietary home-building system, H+ME Technology. An advanced - indoor automated manufacturing plant allows floor, wall and roof assemblies to be built as integrated panels in a controlled environment.

Ani Castillo is the artist for a lot of our work. She is a well known cartoonist from Guadalajara, Mexico, and now lives in Toronto, Canada with her 2 daughters, Umi and Elodie. She has written the book Ping, and is very talented.
